Joe Biden and the left have long made the claim that Republicans try to prevent minorities from voting. That fake narrative has evolved into accusing the GOP of being a “threat to democracy.”
Biden accused numerous states of passing voter integrity laws of creating “Jim Crow 2.0.” He inflamed old racial scars, just to attack states that made cheating much harder.
But did red states really prevent voters from going to the polls? Not if this year is any indication.
Arizona notched a record for high turnout in a primary election as 1.45 million voters participated, or 35.1% of those registered, surpassing the previous record in a 2000 primary by 7,000 ballots…
In 2021, Democrats and pundits attacked election reform laws enacted in 19 states as attempts at “voter suppression.” The five states that appeared to come under the most attack were Georgia, Texas, Arizona, Florida, and Iowa—all of which saw boosted voter turnout so far in 2022 compared to the 2018 primaries. According to reports, voter turnout was “significantly higher” in this year’s primary races–in states that passed voter integrity bills in 2021. These are the very same states Biden accused of voter suppression.
Instead, just the opposite happened. Even with laws in place that confront voter fraud, many more Americans were able to cast a ballot.
Democrats claimed Republican-passed voter integrity laws were designed to discourage minorities from voting. They had a very hard time proving that since these laws were designed to prevent fraud.
You know, like people voting in someone else’s name? Or voting more than once. Or voting in more than one state at a time?
The kinds of things nobody should want happening–if they really care about protecting our elections.
Yet Democrats oppose the very measures that secure our democracy. Meanwhile, they accuse Republicans of trying to stop people from voting.
None of that pans out in reality. States that passed voter integrity laws in 2021 are seeing more people vote. Which means, these laws really did make it easier to vote, but harder to cheat.
Let’s be honest for a minute. Democrats are really upset about voter ID laws and other measures like that, because they often benefit when voter laws are lax.
In states with little election enforcement, there is nothing stopping people from voting as someone else. Or voting more than once. Or stuffing the ballot box with fraudulent votes.
Oh, and in all of these states, Democrats overwhelmingly win elections.
Hmm… do you think there is a connection?
If Democrats were really worried about our democracy, they’d pass the very same voter laws as Georgia and Texas. But will they?
