After Blue City Mayor Attacks DeSantis–He Gets Blasted With the Hard Truth

It’s no secret that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is a rising star. He’s gone to war with the woke left, and won numerous times. He is such a success that he won re-election last year by 20 points–a million votes more than his liberal rival. Many fear what he has planned for 2024. A man like that can make a mockery of Joe Biden.

And, to the horror of many Democrats, Ron DeSantis seems to be gearing up for a presidential run. He is set to release a book this month, which he is calling a “blueprint” for America. He is elevating his profile by traveling to all corners of the country. At the moment, he is on a tour supporting America’s police. His first stop was Staten Island, a conservative section of New York City.

The far-left mayor of New York, humiliated by the rising crime in his city (he is a former police captain) decided to distract from his failures by attacking DeSantis. It did not work out.

“Welcome to NYC,  @GovRonDeSantis , a place where we don’t ban books, discriminate against our LGBTQ+ neighbors, use asylum seekers as props, or let the government stand between a woman and health care,” Adams tweeted. “We’re happy to teach you something about values while you’re here.”

The sarcastic welcome from Adams, whose city saw major crimes increase by 22% in 2022 compared to 2021, prompted a blistering backlash on Twitter, where many commenters noted the exodus from the Big Apple often ends in Florida. [Source: Daily Wire]

Ouch. Adams can fire invectives and slander against DeSantis all he wants. He can accuse the Republican governor of being anti-gay or anti-immigrant. But that doesn’t change the fact that tens of thousands–hundreds of thousands even–of New Yorkers are fleeing the city.

Oh, right. New York doesn’t “ban books.” But it does release violent criminals without bail. It does prevent law-abiding citizens from arming themselves. It does have some of the highest taxes (state AND local), highest costs of living, and lowest quality of life of any American city.

New York is even planning on banning fossil fuels in the near future, which will force energy prices to surge even higher. Folks used to flock to New York for their big breaks. It was where someone could get a good-paying job, find an affordable home, and even start a family.

Not anymore. New York is a cesspool of crime, high taxes, and big, controlling government. Yes, they have a thriving gay community. They also have muggers that will rob you blind and few cops to catch them.

If Eric Adams thinks this is a good way to raise his profile for 2024, he missed big time.
