After Blue City Suffers Crime Surge–It Does the UNTHINKABLE

It’s no secret that Democrats from coast to coast are responsible for surges in crime. Blue cities put into power far-left leaders that have defunded the police, put criminals back on the street, and neglected to enforce the law. The results have been obvious, rampant crime that is driving businesses away and destroying communities.

The worst has hit places like California. The super-liberal leaders in most CA cities have taken drastic steps to undermine the police and reward criminals. In some California cities, businesses are shutting down in large numbers as citizens fear for their lives. But in one of the most liberal cities, a massive shift could be taking place.

California’s famously liberal city of West Hollywood might be taking a more moderate turn after this year’s midterm elections, with residents voting for candidates backed by the police department and local chamber of commerce over young progressive incumbents.

“It’s always been seen as very progressive, but a lot of the residents are also aging into more moderate positions,” Jessica Levinson, an election law professor at Loyola Law School, told MSN of West Hollywood in a report Saturday.

Levinson’s comments come as the city’s ultra-progressive city council has seemingly faced pushback from voters in this month’s midterm elections, most notably on issues of criminal justice. [Source: Fox News]

West Hollywood has long been considered the most liberal of all liberal California cities. But as the results of their midterms voters are tabulated (of course, they haven’t finished counting them), it appears that the younger, far-left city leaders are on their way out. Voters appear to be pushing back against the progressive, anti-cop leftists in favor of moderates who enjoyed the endorsement of police departments.

It appears liberal residents in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and other CA cities are finally reaching their breaking point. They are getting sick and tired of their downtowns being overrun by homeless shanty towns. Criminals, drug addicts, and other vagrants clog the streets. Law-abiding citizens can’t even walk down the street. Businesses are being shuttered. All because extreme, progressive leaders are eroding law and order.

Finally, some voters in these parts are getting some sense. They are pushing back against policies that have slashed police budgets and made their cities into cesspools. Moderate candidates appear poised to take back their seats and perhaps restore some semblance of law and order.

But this is only the beginning. If California is going to be saved, conservative candidates need to work extra hard to win over voters. Much more needs to be done to reverse the tide of crime and corruption.

Can that be done? Can these blue cities be saved from themselves? Or is it already too late?
