The worst of Biden’s agenda was frozen in its tracks, thanks to the opposition of Sen. Joe Manchin. This moderate Democrat from West Virginia refused to support Biden’s most radical spending plans. And the left could not get his support to end the filibuster, which would have destroyed our democracy.
But over the summer, Manchin stabbed America in the back by agreeing to Biden’s latest tax-and-spend bill. Manchin voted for a bill that will add trillions to our debt, raise taxes sky-high, and send countless jobs overseas. All to land a side deal to build a pipeline in West Virginia. A side deal, by the way, that is already DOA.
Manchin turned on his own state and much of the country, for nothing. And now, he is facing some horrible news.
Sen. Joe Manchin’s approval rating dropped by double digits in his home state of West Virginia, which makes him one of the most unpopular senators, according to a recent Morning Consult poll.
Only 42% of registered voters approve of Manchin and 51% disapprove after the senator lost a lot of support from Republicans and independents. In a poll during the first quarter of 2022, his approval rating was close to 60% and his disapproval rating was less than 40%. The change in his approval rating could be rooted in his recent support for some of President Joe Biden’s policy agendas.
Manchin’s approval rating dropped significantly among independent voters, of which only 31% approve. His approval rating is 44% among Republican voters and 52% among Democratic voters. About 52% of independents disapprove of the senator, as do 53% of Republicans and 45% of Democrats. [Source: Just the News]
How interesting! The moderate Democrat’s approval mysterious dropped just after he agreed to support Biden’s terrible spending bill.
I wonder if the two are related in any way?
The media might not admit it, but it’s pretty plain to anyone with half a brain. Manchin betrayed his own ethics to help Biden further tank the U.S. economy. That ticked off the folks back home, who by and large before that loved him.
Manchin was enjoying a 60% approval rating. That is incredibly good for a senator, considering Americans hate most members of Congress. But now, his approval is as bad as everyone else’s at a pathetic 42%.
And this massive drop took place right after he supported Biden’s bill.
Not a coincidence.
Manchin probably thought he would be praised by the people back home, for landing the pipeline deal. But that doesn’t make up for supporting a presidency that hates Americans so much, it is destroying our energy sector while it ramps up taxes.
Worse than that, the only silver lining in Manchin’s treason is most likely dead. Senate Republicans won’t vote for it and House progressives promised to kill it.
So, Manchin got nothing for his betrayal, except a lower approval rating.
Maybe you should have held your ground, idiot!
