Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is known for just a few things. First, her shrill voice. Second, her shocking lack of knowledge of how our government works. Third, her failure to land a single legislative win–despite tremendous support from the liberal media.
Soon after entering Congress, she hyped up her “Green New Deal.” This idiotic proposal was the most radical set of “climate change” demands we’ve ever seen. It was so bad, even Democrats in the House rejected it. AOC should be getting used to failure, by now. But she hasn’t learned a thing.
She even spent four years putting together a documentary to push climate change. Of course, she painted herself as the hero of the story. The film was released in theaters recently. Guess how it did?
New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s new climate change documentary debuted in movie theaters over the weekend, generating an abysmal $80 per theater.
The new film, “To the End,” was filmed over four years and follows four young women, Cortez, activist Varshini Prakash, climate policy writer Rhiana Gunn-Wright and political strategist Alexandra Rojas, as they attempt to pass sweeping climate change legislation in Congress…
The documentary debuted on more than 120 screens over the weekend but garnered less than $10,000 dollars across all theaters, coming in 33rd place overall at the box office. [Source: Fox News]
Why on earth did AOC think people would shell out money to go to the movies and watch her for two hours? And not in anything remotely entertaining, but in a dry, dull, documentary lecturing Americans about climate change?
Pathetic critics tried to prop this film up saying AOC was “funny” and “the best onscreen antidote to despair.” Uh… yeah, we’re not buying that. AOC is known for being an irritating, self-absorbed, uninformed imbecile. Aside from the liberal media–which loves her for no reason–few Americans give two rips about her.
What’s really interesting is that, had this been released to a streaming service, she could have avoided humiliation. Perhaps more people would have watched this film if it had been on Netflix. But instead, AOC (supposedly a savvy Millennial) released it to theaters, at a time when traditional theater-going is dying.
Why?
Perhaps it had something to do with her massive ego. She probably wanted thousands of people flooding theaters nationwide to see her on the big screen. That would have been more impressive than people watching it on their phones. Sadly, her arrogance led to a miserable failure.
But it surely won’t be her last.
