Democrats have been on a tear lately, trying to push left-wing ideology onto children. Over the years, liberals have increasingly pushed sexual topics, including gender identity, in public schools. Children as young as four or five have been exposed to “Drag queen story hours” as well as discussions about topics they are too young to understand.
The left claims Americans are overreacting. Yet, when Florida banned teachers from discussing gender issues in 4th grade and lower, the left exploded. Even liberal-run Disney tried to interfere with this new law. Now, Joe Biden is threatening to take free school lunches away from children, to force schools into accepting the left’s gender agenda.
But a new poll reveals most Americans are not on Biden’s side.
A large majority of Americans disapprove of the Department of Education’s plan to expand the definition of “sex” to include “gender identity,” according to new polling.
The Education Department’s move comes as the Biden administration is using heavy-handed measures to enshrine gender ideology into federal law.
Nearly two-thirds of Americans (63 percent) oppose the Education Department’s plan, according to a YouGov poll done for SAVE released Monday. The proposed changes would amend Title IX’s definition of “sex” to include “sex stereotypes, sex-related characteristics (including intersex traits), pregnancy or related conditions, sexual orientation, and gender identity.” Only 37 percent of Americans were for the redefinition. Not only is this a blow to Biden’s radical agenda to push this onto children, but the poll also asked how Americans feel about men competing in women’s sports. A whopping 71% of Americans are against biological males competing with women, regardless of how they identify.
This proves that Americans are not on board with the left’s radical attempts to redefine gender in our country. Democrats overplayed their hand, thinking they could use public schools, the media, and universities to convince people to agree with them. Instead, their plan is backfiring, as Americans pushed against this trend.
Now, let’s be honest. Biden is in no way going to heed the results of this poll. His administration will continue to push radical policies that few Americans support. The result, of course, will be greater losses for the left in court battles and beyond.
Americans will grow even more outraged that the left is ignoring them. And that will be reflected in the voting booths.
If Democrats think pushing radical gender issues through schools is a good idea, they don’t know what is going to hit them.
