Biden Caves on Border–Secretly Tries to Adopt Trump-Era Policy

Only a liar will say the border is under control at this point. From the moment Joe Biden entered office, he has allowed our Southern border to rage out of control. Millions of illegal aliens have flooded the country. It’s gotten so bad, border town officials claim that drug cartels are controlling the border, not Border Patrol.

The situation has led to loss of life, chaos in numerous communities, and threats to our national security and economy. Even liberal mayors are getting worried as they see more and more aliens invade their cities. Biden’s policy of doing nothing clearly isn’t working. And with Title 42 set to expire, millions more could be flooding a town near you.

Biden in no way is going to actually begin enforcing our immigration laws. But it seems he is willing to admit defeat in one area. And his administration is proposing a new rule that sounds awfully familiar.

The Biden administration proposed a new restriction on asylum seekers that closely resembles a policy from the Trump administration.

The new rule would prevent migrants who do not use already available legal pathways to asylum and do not seek asylum in a third country from applying for asylum in the U.S. Biden Administration officials said the rule was proposed in response to the end of Title 42 immigration restrictions. It also closely resembles a Trump administration policy which similarly banned asylum seekers who did not first seek asylum in another country. [Source: Daily Wire]

As usual, the Biden administration is talking out the side of its mouth. This Trump-era rule has nothing to do with Title 42. Title 42, need I remind you, allowed Border Patrol to quickly deport illegals, so detention centers would become overcrowded (even though they did become overcrowded under Biden). This was to avoid the spread of COVID.

So, why is requiring asylum seekers to apply at the first country they enter have anything to do with COVID? These rules, originally implemented by the Trump administration, are aimed at limiting how many migrants bombard our border. They prevent many from seeking asylum in the U.S.

These are reasonable measures to control how many immigrants enter the country per year. This is the exact opposite of what Biden has been doing all along. Joe Biden gutted Title 42, so it had little effect on the border. He ignored existing immigration laws, preventing Border Patrol from deporting illegal aliens.

Biden spent COVID relief money to bus illegal aliens to all corners of the country (mostly to districts he wanted to flip red to blue). By all appearances, Biden created an open border to let in economy refugees, drug cartels, human smugglers, and sex traffickers. And even today, he does very little to secure the border, preventing this tidal wave of invasion.

Proposing this rule is an admission of defeat for the Biden administration. They will have to confess their “approach” at the border has not been working. But don’t be fooled. Biden is not pushing this because it is the right thing to do. The White House has been forced to do something, because the problem is getting so out of hand.

We don’t know if this policy will be implemented or even enforced. It is yet more evidence, though, of this failed presidency and his refusal to put Americans first.
