Biden Panics as Primaries Heat Up–Expose Democrats’ Weakness on Top Issue

Joe Biden (or more accurately, whoever is making decisions for Joe Biden) knows that the 2024 race is going to be much tougher than anyone on the left thinks. Democrats seem to assume they can do whatever they want in office and still win elections. Fail miserably, tank the economy, leave the border open, and let their cities become hellholes.

I guess they assume that ballot harvesting will always work out of them. That being the biggest failures and crooks in American history can’t possibly hurt their chances, when they have operatives who can churn out enough votes every time.

But it doesn’t seem as if the White House agrees. Biden is hanging on by the skin of his teeth. He is on the chopping block in 2024, as is the rest of his party. He just warned them about a critical issue. And it exposed the party’s massive weakness.

Joe Biden is signaling to his own party to toughen up on crime leading up to the 2024 election, vowing to strike down a progressive Washington, D.C. citywide crime law that former President Trump called on him to kill, or “stand with murderers, rapists and carjackers and violent criminals.” […]

“I support D.C. Statehood and home-rule – but I don’t support some of the changes D.C. Council put forward over the Mayor’s objections – such as lowering penalties for carjackings,” the president tweeted on Thursday. “If the Senate votes to overturn what D.C. Council did – I’ll sign it.”

After Democratic incumbent Mayor Lori Lightfoot of Chicago only garnered 17 percent of the vote in the Tuesday elections for her city, this sent a signal to the White House that even Democratic voters are tired of the crime. [Source: The Post Millennial]

Democrats have dug themselves into a hole they might not be able to climb out of. For years, they’ve pushed radical policies that took cops off the streets and replaced them with convicted criminals. Leftists have championed “criminal justice reform,” which is code for defunding police departments, eliminating cash bail, and refusing to prosecute many crimes.

But it looks like voters are sick to death of the left’s constant refusal to enforce the law. Perhaps the worst mayor we’ve ever seen (and we’re not talking about her face), Lori Lightfoot, was humiliated during Chicago’s mayoral elections last week.

Despite being the incumbent, she only got 17 percent of the vote. That probably had something to do with her horrible record on crime. The city saw a massive increase in violent crimes and shoots. But she always blamed gun control, despite the fact the city has the strictest gun laws in America.

When she lost, Lightfoot called Chicago voters racist and sexist. She clearly missed the memo. Joe Biden (or, again, whoever is making decisions for him) didn’t miss the memo. He recently promised to overturn an idiotic D.C. law that rewards criminals.

He appears to be sending a message to the rest of his party: stop encouraging crime or you’ll lose. If Democrats were smart, they’d listen.

But they aren’t smart. So the most left-wing of the party will continue to support criminals. Hopefully, they’ll learn the hard way that voters are done with that.
