Joe Biden has made many mistakes since entering office. He is responsible for numerous crises going on right now. But perhaps his biggest failure (so far) has been the fall of Afghanistan.
Americans have been watching in real time as Biden made one blunder after another. He ignored his own military officials and common sense to pull our troops at the wrong time. He left behind billions of dollars worth of weapons and equipment—which the Taliban immediately stole. Worse still, Biden did not intend to evacuate the thousands of Americans and vulnerable Afghan allies.
He hastily sent back troops to get our people out, a fiasco that dragged on for several weeks. The chaos in Kabul resulted in loss of life, first when people fell from plans and then after a terror attack. Clearly, Biden did not have a handle on the situation.
But to make matters even worse, Biden bowed to the Taliban to stick to the August 31st deadline.
Now, he is touting his “success” in withdrawing our troops from Afghanistan. Yet hundreds of Americans are still in danger.
Central Command Commander Marine Gen. Frank McKenzie announced in a briefing on Monday that the last U.S. military aircraft has departed from the Hamid Karzai International Airport, where the evacuation was being staged…
McKenzie conceded that hundreds of Americans were left behind in the country.
“I believe our State Department is going to work very hard to allow any American citizens that are left — and we think the citizens that were not brought out number in the low — very low hundreds,” he said. [Source: Breitbart]
No matter how Biden or the media tries to spin this, the Afghanistan withdrawal has been a tremendous failure. How can a general claim “success” when we are treating in defeat, leaving behind hundreds of our own people?
McKenzie doesn’t even know how many Americans are still there. He claims that the State Department is going to “work very hard” to get them out. How are they going to do that, when there is nobody on the ground to help them?
Keep in mind, the airport is closed. There are no commercial flights going in or out of Kabul. That could be the case for the foreseeable future, as airlines don’t want to be responsible for transporting terrorists out of the country.
What options does our State Department have? The embassy is closed. With no ability to even contact stranded Americans, how can they even arrange a car ride? Americans won’t even be able to drive out of the country, since the borders are closed.
Biden and our military leaders should be ashamed. They fled from Afghanistan without any plans. They left behind American citizens and don’t even seem concerned that they could be tortured or killed by the enemy.
If Trump had done this, Democrats would be drawing up impeachment articles as we speak. Instead, this pathetic excuse for a president wants a pat on the back.
