Pressuring is growing against New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Since news broke of his nursing home scandal, numerous people have come forward to accuse him of misconduct. But reports of sexual harassment have galvanized a movement to force him out of office.
To date, seven women have come forward to accuse the governor of inappropriate behavior. They range from continued harassment at work to an alleged episode of groping at the governor’s mansion. These accusations have been followed by other accounts that have colored the man’s entire reputation.
As the news has grown, many Democrats have demanded answers from Cuomo. State lawmakers have called for his resignation and are preparing an impeachment investigation. Yet despite all this, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris refuse to commit. Biden himself has danced around the issue.
President Joe Biden stood by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, both Democrats, on Sunday amid calls that Cuomo should resign amid a nursing home scandal and allegations of workplace misconduct.
“Do you think Governor Andrew Cuomo should resign?” a reporter asked Biden on the White House lawn.
“I think the investigation is underway and we should see what it brings us,” Biden responded. [Source: Daily Wire]
This is the same man that supported the accusers of Brett Kavanaugh in 2018. Biden has also faced numerous accusations about his treatment of women.
Is this a case of protecting one of their own? One of Cuomo’s accusers seems to think so. And she’s striking back.
Lindsey Boylan, the first woman who came forward and publicly accused New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo of sexual misconduct, says that she is being harassed because top Democrats — including President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris — have been silent on the issue…
“He is calling up hate and speculation to be directed to his accusers. All harm and hate directed at the women sits squarely on @NYGovCuomo.” [Source: Daily Wire]
Boylan has called out top Democrats—and the entire party itself—for supporting Cuomo with their silence. She claims their unwillingness to stand with accused women, something they’ve sworn to do in the past, is leading to further harassment and attacks against her.
Hmm… not great Democrats. I thought you were the “party of women”? This is the same group that said we were to believe all women accusers, just a few years ago. People like Harris and Biden bother immediately believed the accusations of other women—when they were accusing political rivals. But when it is someone like Andrew Cuomo, suddenly they are unsure of what’s true and what’s not.
Biden’s response is typical of a cowardly, career politician. He refuses to take a stance on this issue, because if an investigation clears Cuomo’s name, Biden doesn’t want to look bad.
But just imagine what Biden would be saying if it was a Republican governor accused of sexual harassment? He would be the first to call for his resignation before any evidence was presented.
If and when Cuomo is taken down, Biden will have no right to celebrate. He refused to do the right thing when it mattered. And Americans are going to remember.
