Blue State Does Unthinkable on U.S. Soil – Calls up Guard to Clean up Gov’s Mess

They once called California the “Golden State.” People from across America and the world would visit its famous cities and tourist destinations. That was before California got a Democrat supermajority, run by communist dictator Gov. Gavin Newsom.

The radical leftists who run California have turned it into a wasteland. That’s especially true for the many cities people used to frequent. The far-left policies of Newsom and others have brought one beloved city to its knees. And now, he is taking an unthinkable move to do something about it.

On Friday, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced an initiative between the California National Guard and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) along with the San Francisco Police Department and District Attorney’s office to crack down on the massive influx and distribution of fentanyl in the Golden City following weeks of outcry over the drug’s impact on the city including its open air drug markets.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports, “The Tenderloin and South of Market are the epicenters of the city’s drug and homelessness crises, with people dealing and using drugs on sidewalks.”

On April 10, journalist Michael Shellenberger said on Twitter that San Francisco was a “failed city” and called on Newsom to “send in the national guard to shut down the dangerous and deadly open air drug markets.” [Source: The Post Millennial]

Yikes. The drug problem has gotten so bad that the governor is forced to call in the National Guard. I might remind you that the National Guard is normally brought in to stop riots or other major threats to the peace. But thanks to leftist policies, San Francisco is little more than a warzone.

Legalizing drugs and leaving the border open has seen an explosion of drug abuse. People are coming from all over the world, to get wasted in the middle of the street. There is literally an open-air drug market in the city.

Yes, something people used to do under the cover of night, in alleys and underground, drug dealers are doing right out in the open.

How bad has San Francisco gotten? People can’t even walk the streets anymore. A famous tech founder was stabbed to death, just walking through his neighborhood. But if Newsom thinks that the National Guard is going to fix things, he’s dreaming.

The Guard might be able to clear out these junkies, for a while. But the moment the guardsmen are gone, they’ll be right back selling fentanyl in the streets. That’s because Gavin, like his buddy Joe Biden, refuses to secure the California-Mexico border.

And Democrats in the state refuse to enforce criminal laws and arrest drug users. What did they think was going to happen?
