CDC Makes A Huge Announcement About Monkey Pox Pandemic

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warned this week that the federal public health agency anticipates more Monkeypox infections in the United States.

According to CNBC, the CDC’s Dr. Jennifer McQuiston confirmed that the United States has recently recorded one case of Monkeypox in Massachusetts, as well as four Orthopox infections in New York City, Florida, and Utah. A CDC laboratory in Georgia is currently examining cases of Orthopox, which is a member of the family of viruses that includes Monkeypox.

Joe Biden addressed the Monkeypox development, stating that Americans should be “worried” about it.

“They haven’t informed me yet about the level of exposure, but it’s something that everyone should be concerned about,” he added.

The U.S. has a supply of “vaccine that is effective in treating monkeypox,” according to Jake Sullivan, Biden’s national security adviser.

“We do have vaccines available for that purpose,” the Biden aide informed.

On Monday, a former World Health Organization official said the Monkeypox cases, which have been verified in numerous nations across the world, were “a random event.”

According to an Associated Press interview, Dr. David Heymann, who previously led the W.H.O.’s emergency department, said that the most popular hypothesis to explain the spread of sickness was sexual transmission among bisexual and gay men at two raves held in Belgium and Spain. Monkeypox has never before caused large outbreaks outside of Africa, where it is endemic in animals.

“We now know that monkeypox can spread when there is direct contact with the sores of an infected person, and it appears like sexual contact has increased that transmission,” said Heymann

Monkeypox is a rare viral disease that is similar to smallpox, although it is generally less severe. The monkeypox virus is found in several African countries and can spread from animals to humans. Infection with the monkeypox virus can cause a fever, headache, muscle aches, and a rash. In severe cases, monkeypox can be fatal. There is no specific treatment for monkeypox, but people who are infected can receive supportive care to help relieve symptoms. The best way to prevent monkeypox is to avoid contact with animals that may be infected, as well as with people who are sick with the disease.
