Chief Justice Roberts ‘Appalled’ at Leak, Still Sides With Liberal Wing

Last week, the country was rocked by a leaked draft opinion of the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe v. Wade. Democrats are panicking because we could be days away from abortion being outlawed at the federal level.

The leak was an obvious attempt by someone within the court to intimidate conservative justices. The unprecedented move has triggered outrage by many leaders (no Democrats), including Chief Justice Roberts.

The Supreme Court’s final decision will not be affected by leaks, the chief justice says.

Chief Justice John Roberts called the leak of a drafted court opinion overturning Roe v. Wade “absolutely appalling” in a talk Thursday. The justice went on to dismiss any question that the leak would affect the Supreme Court’s final decision. [Source: Fox News]

Although Roberts is rebuking the leak in the strongest of terms, he still seems hellbent on protecting abortion.

Chief Justice John Roberts, who has at times sided with the liberal wing of the court, still appears set to oppose the decision, with the report noting that Roberts was still attempting to persuade Coney Barrett and Kavanaugh to take a more incremental approach to allowing abortion restrictions. According to a new report, not only is reports voting to uphold Roe v. Wade, he is trying to get two of the conservative justices to do so as well. He claims he wants an “more incremental” approach to setting abortion restrictions.

But we all know the facts. If this ruling upholds Roe, it’s unlikely another abortion case will reach the court any time soon. Robert’s commitment to “incremental” will simply allow Roe to stick around for another decade, meaning more unborn lives lost.

It’s pretty shocking to see how often Roberts has sided with the liberal wing of the court. Wasn’t he appointed by President George W. Bush? One of the most pro-life presidents we’ve ever had (until Trump)? Why is this man so willing to undermine the interests of the American people, to keep leftists happy?

Make no mistake, Roe will most likely be overturned. There are enough conservative justices on the bench to produce a 5-4 majority. And the news coming out of the court recently suggests the leak and Democrat meltdown has not dissuaded the court’s decision.

Ever since Justice Kennedy stepped down, Roberts has taken it upon himself to be the court’s swing vote. Even if that means voting on issues that violate the Constitution’s strict standards.

But this time, his meddling does not appear to be enough to change this historical decision.

Let the left rage all they want.
