Instead of focusing on the issues that matter to Americans, they’re busy trying to take down the former president at every turn. Headlines are twisted, and narratives are spun to fit their anti-Trump agenda. And don’t even get me started on the commentary—every time Trump speaks, you can count on an onslaught of smug reactions from the so-called “experts.”
Their game is clear: if Trump has a win, they’ll bury it under a mountain of opinionated analysis.
Take the recent debate, for example. Trump came out strong, making it clear that he’s the candidate people trust on the economy. But how does the media react? With more eye-rolling and condescension. They can’t admit that the numbers don’t lie. They’d rather nitpick his rhetoric than acknowledge that voters actually agree with him on the most important issue of our time: the economy.

Enter CNN’s own poll, which—despite the network’s best efforts—highlighted Trump’s surge in economic trust after the debate. Before the debate, Trump was already leading Vice President Kamala Harris on the issue of the economy, with a 16-point advantage, 53% to 37%. But after the debate? Trump’s lead jumped to a whopping 20%, with 55% of debate watchers siding with him on the economy compared to just 35% for Harris.
David Chalian, CNN’s political director, almost had to begrudgingly admit these results on air, acknowledging that while this was a poll of debate watchers, it still reflected a similar partisan breakdown as the country at large. This wasn’t just some anomaly. Trump’s message about the economy hit home—and it resonated more than ever.
During the debate, Trump didn’t hold back, labeling inflation as a “country buster” and pointing out that it’s worse than what most Americans have ever seen. His confidence in returning the country to economic greatness was clear, as he promised to cut taxes and restore the kind of thriving economy we had during his presidency. “Everybody knows what I’m going to do,” he said, reminding viewers that his economic success wasn’t just talk—it was reality.
Meanwhile, voters have consistently shown that the economy is their top concern. Various polls over the past year have highlighted this fact. CBS News reported that 8 in 10 adults see the economy as a major factor in how they’ll vote, far outpacing issues like climate change or even abortion. The Economist and YouGov poll backed this up, with 73% of respondents stating that jobs and the economy are their primary concerns.
So, while the media may try to downplay Trump’s appeal, the American people aren’t fooled. The numbers speak for themselves. The economy is the issue, and Trump is the leader voters trust to fix it. No amount of liberal spin can change that reality.
