Big Apple Mayor Bill de Blasio threatened to take the Trump administration to court should the White House deploy Federal Agents to crackdown on the growing crime wave sweeping New York City.
“All over the country, people are distressed but he president’s deep, unwavering desire to send agents all over the country where they are not needed,” de Blasio said, calling it “unproductive.”
“We can’t allow it here in New York City or anywhere else,” he continued. “I want to be very, very clear, that we will not allow this to happen.”
“We are New Yorkers and we won’t take lightly if we see federal officers in New York City,” he said. “If we do, we’ll be in court.”
“De Blasio seems to have not a hard time criticizing police officers, but an awfully hard time controlling the streets of New York City,” said White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
President Trump called-out the “radical left” leaders of major American cities from the Oval Office Monday morning; saying the federal government will step-in if the mayors of Chicago, New York, and Portland fail to crackdown on crime.
“Many people killed over the weekend, looking at Chicago, looking at New York, look at what’s going on, all run by Democrats, all run by very liberal Democrats, all run really by radical left,” said the President.
“We can’t let this happen to the cities. New York, the crime rate is up 300%. The Governor has to do something about it. If he doesn’t do something about it we’ll have to do something about it,” he added.
