In recent days, the Democrats’ scheme to force mail-in voting nationwide hit numerous snags. It’s becoming more and more clear that voting by mail is not the way to go. Their solution? Throw money at the post office. Trump has countered them, saying was a bad idea. When they attacked him, he fired back big time.
You may have heard a lot of talk about the post office in recent days. Let’s try to sort it all out. The Democrats wanted to impose mail-in voting, claiming COVID made it too dangerous to stand in line to vote. Donald Trump for months has shot down their scheme, pointing out the many dangers of mail-in voting.
In recent weeks, story after story has come out to prove him right. The most notable came out of New York, where 100,000’s of ballots were thrown out because they were postmarked too late or came in after the election.
It’s clear voting by mail is just too risky. Especially if millions of voters try it at once. It’s too easy for a ballot to be lost or destroyed. Worse than that is the risk that people will steal hundreds of ballots or forge someone else’s. You don’t need a good imagination to realize how easy it would be for someone (or an entire party) to commit voter fraud.
So, the Democrats up with a last-ditch scheme: throw money at the post office! Sure, if the post office is the weak link, then giving them billions (or trillions) of dollars will fix it.
Donald Trump instead wants to simply reform the service. He is even developing a plan to improve service, while saving jobs and money. After they tried to attack, he put them in their place.
President Trump dismissed allegations from Congressional Democrats that his administration is trying to “sabotage” the election by reforming the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) and cutting its deficit…
“I’m just making it good,” Trump said, according to Fox News. “We have a very, very good business guy running it, and … I want to make the post office great again.”
“What am I supposed to do? Let it continue to run badly? So if you fix it they say, ‘Oh, he’s tampering with the election,’” Trump said. “No, we’re not tampering.” [Source: Daily Wire]
Donald Trump’s plan to fix the post office would save them over $1 billion a year in overtime spending. The president promised to save the ailing service and keep every last job.
Nancy Pelosi is trying to force the House back into session to instead craft a bailout package. Her plan is to throw more money at the USPS, in a pathetic attempt to justify mail-in voting.
As usual, the left’s plan to fix something is to spend more money on the broken thing. That is why so many government agencies are wasteful, cost billions, and still don’t do what they’re supposed to. Trump, instead, believes in improving things and saving money at the same time. It can be done, it just requires leaders who aren’t crooks.
Even if Pelosi got her USPS bailout, it wouldn’t be enough to save mail-in voting. Money can fix the problem, especially with the election just months away.
It would require months, if not years, for the post office to develop a special program to protect mail-in voting. They don’t have that kind of time, nor is it necessary.
Even shutdown advocate Anthony Fauci says it is safe to vote in person. We don’t need to spend billions on a failing service to lose our ballots.
Let Trump fix the post office. And let us vote in person. Period.
