Fake Science ‘Guy’ Screws up American History to Push Woke Agenda

Although Bill Nye long ago hung up the mantle of “Science Guy,” he has pathetically fought for relevance in recent years. The would-be actor has swallowed the woke pilled and has pushed every leftist talking point from climate alarmism to gender theory.

Few people are left who respect this non-scientist. Yet he continues to bang the leftist drum on social media. He recently tried to push radical “critical race theory” during this year’s “Juneteenth” observance. But he was called out for messing up history.

“The United States we know today was built with the labor of enslaved Black Americans. The last were not freed (officially) until 19 June 1865. Let us celebrate— and never forget,” Nye tweeted, accompanied by a photo of him holding a pocket copy of the Constitution.

Posts on social media pointed out that Nye got it wrong on several counts; the Emancipation Proclamation, which freed slaves in America, was passed in 1863 but was not ratified until December 1865, and slavery was still present in several states even after U.S. General Gordon Granger told Texans on June 19, 1865, that the Emancipation Proclamation had been passed in 1863, the date celebrated as “Juneteenth.”

Last November, President Biden joined Nye in a much-criticized video supporting Biden’s trillion-dollar infrastructure bill.

Nye has offered his profound wisdom before; in May 2019, he threw a temper tantrum in a video played on HBO’s “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,” hysterically proclaiming, “The planet’s on f***ing fire!” and ranting, “Grow the f*** up! You’re not children anymore!” [Source: Daily Wire]

Does Bill Nye have any clue what he is talking about? He embarrassed himself with a rant over the lies of climate alarmism back in 2019. He carried Biden’s water on his false infrastructure bill last year. And now, he’s distorting our history to push the left’s woke agenda on race.

Without any evidence, Nye claims America “was built” by enslaved Black Americans. Wrong on several accounts. Yes, slavery existed, but America was not “built” by it. Hard-working people, slave and free, helped found America. But long ago we fought to end slavery. The America we have today is the result of free people working to keep it great.

And Bill is conveniently ignoring the reality that not all slaves were black. The left has gone a long way to ignore Irish slaves and slaves of non-African ethnicity, to prop up their racial hatred.

After that, users online criticized Nye’s distortion of basic facts. Like the surface skater he is, he is pushing the current narrative by the left that Juneteenth is the “official” date of the end of slavery. It was only the day U.S. General Gordon Granger reached Texas to announce the end of slavery by the U.S. government.

Ouch, Nye. Wrong on nearly all accounts. But the biggest failure is how this has-been actor is trying to stay in the public eye, by any means necessary. Including pushing false narratives that only tear this country apart.
