We know that Donald Trump and Joe Biden will debate only twice this election cycle. The host network will carefully control the debates. Many believe this is to protect Joe Biden, who, from all appearances, is suffering from rapid cognitive decline.
Perhaps, if the Democrats want to boost Joe, they’ll also have Kamala Harris debate.
She is the future “star” of the party, right? Shouldn’t she be able to demolish whoever Trump picks as his running mate? Well, a former top Harris aid is spilling the beans. If Trump picks this one man as his vice president candidate, Kamala will be in big trouble.
Vice President Harris’ former communications director recently said there is one Republican who would be the “greatest threat” to her vice presidency if chosen as former President Trump’s 2024 running mate.
Ashley Etienne, who served as Harris’ communications director in 2021, told CNN on Friday that she believes Ohio Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, is an “incredible debater” and could present a challenge to Harris in the upcoming election.
“I think JD Vance would pose the greatest threat [to] Kamala Harris, in some respects. I mean he’s an incredible debater,” Etienne told CNN. “I think he has this quality that makes him seem palpable to that one to two percent that actually might vote or that is undecided, that will actually pay attention to the debates because most people don’t pay attention to the debates.” [Source: Fox News]
According to Ashley Etienne, Harris’ former communications director, the vice president’s “greatest threat” is J.D. Vance. Etienne said that Vance is great at debates, and Harris would reportedly have a very hard time keeping up with him.
Etienne even said Vance is “super smart” and “quick-witted.” Those aren’t words anyone would use to describe Kamala Harris. Biden’s vice president is known for idiotic gaffes that give Joe a run for his money. She has repeatedly embarrassed herself during meetings with NASA scientists and foreign diplomats.
The former Harris adviser knows what she is talking about, too. As someone who worked closely and personally with Kamala, Etienne has seen how she works firsthand. If she is worried about Harris debating Vance, then it means something. Harris would have a problem trying to keep up with Vance. Her tendency to put her foot in her mouth with “word salads” could take her down before Vance even heats up.
Trump has yet to announce his vice president running mate. It is unknown if the campaigns will agree to a vice president debate, which has been historically rare.
