We’ve talked about Democrats’ horrible re-election chances this midterm season. Thanks to their pathetic lack of leadership—and the ongoing failures of Joe Biden—Democrats stand to lose their majority in Congress. The good money’s on Democrats losing control of the House after this election. And more evidence suggests they will even lose a few seats in the Senate, giving up control to Republicans.
But things might be worse than anyone thought. Over thirty Democrats have retired from the House, making it much harder for them to hold it. And Republicans continue to win in generic polls, something we’ve never seen before. Now, Newt Gingrich is making a bold prediction.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said on Sunday that Republicans could pick up as many as 70 seats in the House of Representatives after the 2022 midterm elections.
Gingrich shared the prediction during an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo.
“I think we’ll pick up between 25 and 70 seats in the House. We’ll probably pick up about four seats in the Senate,” Gingrich said. [Source: Daily Wire]
Gingrich even predicted that any district Biden “carried by less than 15-20 points,” Democrats are in a very bad position. What does that mean? That, outside of deeply-blue parts of the country, voters are mad as hell at Democrats. The left has gone out of its way, for many years, to make Americans’ lives miserable.
It didn’t end with unnecessary lockdowns that ruined businesses, life events, and children’s education. They pushed mask mandates and vaccines—or else you’d lose your job. And they continue to prop up a failed president who cares little for anything other than his family’s wealth.
Not to mention how they ignore the obvious signs that the man has dementia!
Democrats spent four years calling Trump the devil. Yet after only one year in power, the country’s a laughing stock. Inflation is out of control. Gas prices are ridiculous. And people fear for the future. And they are blaming Democrats, because it’s Democrats’ fault.
Is that a winning formula? Not even close. And yet Democrats think they can spend millions of dollars this election cycle lying their way out of the problem.
That’s not going to work. And Gingrich, who helped Republicans retake Congress in the 90s, knows a thing or two about this kind of thing. He’s not one to make wild predictions. This could even be a modest prediction.
We’ll see, come November.
