Democrats claim they are the only one protecting democracy, right? Then why is it that, every time we turn around, we find them chipping away at our constitutional rights? Don’t be fooled. If Democrats had their way, every single person who disagrees with their views would be put on the chopping block.
Their latest scheme is to battle against so-called white supremacy. Democrats see racists around every corner. And they are able to twist anything you say into sounding racist. Simply disagreeing with their politics will get you branded a “white supremacist” these days. And, to the shock of all freedom-loving Americans, House Democrats just proposed a bill–guised as an anti-white supremacy bill–that would outlaw free speech as we know it.
The Leading Against White Supremacy Act of 2023, sponsored by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, would make it a federal crime not just to commit a crime that is inspired by White supremacy, but to post something on social media that promotes White supremacist views if someone else then sees it and commits a crime.
“It is a criminal hate speech law that would violate core principles of the First Amendment,” George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley wrote in a Tuesday blog post. “It makes clear that the accused does not actually have to support or conspire in a crime.” [Source: Fox News]
This is pretty shocking. It is already a violation of federal law to commit a “hate crime.” Hate crimes include any acts of violence or discrimination against someone because of their race, gender, or sexuality.
But Democrat Sheila Jackson snuck into this new bill something else. Although it is already illegal to hurt someone because of race, she wants it so that anyone who posts something that promotes “white supremacy” can also go to jail.
Of course, they don’t have clear rules for what is or isn’t white supremacy. Anything you say that contradicts the left’s narrative they might call “white supremacy.” Did you post a MAGA-theme picture on Facebook? That’s white supremacy.
Did you quote something from Ben Shapiro or Jordan Peterson? That’s white supremacy. Do you simply not like Joe Biden? White supremacy. The moment the left decides you are a threat to their tyranny, they will twist whatever you say into sounding racist. And, if this bill was law, you could go to jail for simply speaking your mind.
How can any Democrat, who claims to care about democracy, think that attacking free speech is right? This bill would create an environment where Americans are denied their free speech rights, out of fear of being accused of being a “white supremacist.”
Not that Democrats care. It’s painfully clear they no longer support democracy, free speech, and liberty.
