‘I Was Elected To ‘Clean The Swamp, ‘ And That’s What I Am Doing!’: Trump Confronts Washington’s Deep State

President Donald Trump lambasted the Democratic opposition Thursday, Dec. 5, in the middle of the impeachment inquiry against him. “I was elected to ‘Clean the Swamp, ‘ and that’s what I am doing!,” he said.

Hearing of the House Judiciary Committee was held Wednesday, after the impeachment process began with the Intelligence Committee under the leadership of controversial Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.).

However, so far, the opposition has not been able to present proof, fact evidence, or witnesses to corroborate its claim that President Trump exercised a quid pro quo with Ukrainian President Volodymiy Zelenskiy to investigate a corruption case involving the son of his eventual rival in next year’s presidential election, Democrat Joe Biden.

In fact, at the first hearing of the committee chaired by Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), there were no fact witnesses but four academics were called to give their views on the impeachment inquiry.

Prior to the testimony, Doug Collins (R-Ga.), ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, had already said, “In fact, there’s no indication our committee will EVER hear from fact witnesses.”

“‘The do nothing’ Democrats had a historically bad day yesterday in the House [of Representatives],” President Trump said onThursday.

“They have no Impeachment case and are demeaning our Country. But nothing matters to them, they have gone crazy,” the president continued in a thread posted on his Twitter account.

Confusion among the Democrats

Certainly, the attempted impeachment of President Trump is not working very well for the Democrats. In addition to the fact that no witnesses or evidence have been presented to prove the supposed quid pro quo between Trump and Zelenskiy, the polls have revealed the little interest the American public has with the impeachment process.

Moreover, voters in historically Democratic districts have also spoken out against impeachment, demanding an end to this investigation of President Trump and calling for resources to be used for issues most important to the nation.

It seems unlikely that the House will be able to vote on the impeachment before Christmas, since despite the fact that the Democratic opposition has a majority in the House, several congressmen are not sure they believe there is enough evidence to impeach the president.

That is why in the face of an unfavorable scenario for the Democrats, as it has been reported in the media, the last word is with the speaker of the House, Democrat Nancy Pelosi.

“The House Democrats are panicking,” journalist Cristina Laila said in an article on The Gateway Pundit.

“Pelosi simply doesn’t have the votes right now to move forward with a full impeachment vote,” she added.

The impeachment turned against the Democrats by exposing how former Vice President Joe Biden pressured then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to dismiss a court case investigating a corruption case involving his son, Hunter Biden.

Analysts and politicians predict that if the case reaches the Senate, which has a Republican majority, it could uncover a major corruption case involving Democratic leaders and other recognized people linked to the so-called deep state, an extensive network of officials and politicians operating in the shadows with obscure interests.

President Trump said, “I say, if you are going to impeach me, do it now, fast, so we can have a fair trial in the Senate, and so that our Country can get back to business.”

“We will have Schiff, the Bidens, Pelosi and many more testify, and will reveal, for the first time, how corrupt our system really is. I was elected to “Clean the Swamp,” and that’s what I am doing!”
