In Wake of ‘Twitter Files’–Top Republican Drops Hammer on Big Tech CEOs

We’ve yet to see the full impact of Elon Musk’s “Twitter Files.” The new CEO of the social network released thousands of internal memos. Investigative journalists revealed that the former top executives of the major social app were colluding with Democrats within the federal government. All to censor content damaging to the Democratic Party–a gross violation of the First Amendment.

So far, these former executives were forced to answer for their actions before House committees. But that is only the beginning. With Republicans in control of the House, they have the power to expose what the rest of the Big Tech companies were doing. And this week, Rep. Jim Jordan just dropped a hammer on these Silicon Valley tyrants.

On Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee issued subpoenas to the CEOs of five Big Tech giants, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Alphabet’s Sundar Pichai, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, Apple’s Tim Cook, and Amazon’s Andy Jassy, demanding they divulge whether their platforms colluded with the federal government to censor free speech.

“Congress has an important role in protecting and advancing fundamental free speech principles, including by examining how private actors coordinate with the government to suppress First Amendment-protected speech,” the House Judiciary Committee said in a press release. “These subpoenas are the first step in holding Big Tech accountable.” [Source: The Post Millennial]

These subpoenas will require these CEOs to testify before Congress. Jim Jordan might also track down documentation from federal agencies which may have been colluding with these companies.

Musk revealed that the FBI and other agencies were working with Twitter to ban conservative users, censor their content, and prevent certain stories from reaching the public. Does anyone think they weren’t also working with other companies? Twitter is smaller than Facebook, YouTube, or Apple.

If Democrats in D.C. were working with Twitter, you better believe they were doing the same–or more–with these other companies. Almost every big tech company from Silicon Valley is run by liberals. These CEOs share the same political ideology as Democrats. It wouldn’t take much for them to agree to help Democrats within the federal government.

But that is still a violation of their own companies’ policies and ethics. Not to mention a violation of the First Amendment. The government has no power to control your speech and it is not allowed to get third parties to do the same.

What does all this mean? House Republicans can run these leads to the ground and expose what Democrats have been doing. But it will take the DOJ to prosecute any crimes revealed by these hearings. You might not think the DOJ will be willing to address crimes committed by Democrats, since it is being run by Biden’s goons.

But this is too big for the DOJ to ignore. And if Americans demand justice for this violation of the First Amendment, they won’t have much of a choice. If Big Tech wants to avoid getting hammered for breaking the law, these companies will have to move very fast to end their (still ongoing) censorship policies.
