Ironic: California Begs EV Owners Not to Charge Cars Due to Blackouts

Well, it had to happen. Joe Biden let gas prices rage out of control, all to force more Americans to buy electric cars. His own cabinet members admitted as much. And Democrats continue to plunge the country into debt by throwing cash at green industries.

I guess we should just bite the bullet, then, and buy electric cars? Sure, it will require a huge loan that will take ten years to pay off. But at least you’ll never have to worry about energy prices again right?

Not even close.

Days ago, officials in California unveiled a plan to phase out new gas-powered cars. Now, officials are asking residents to avoid charging their electric vehicles in the interest of not overwhelming the power grid…

“The top three conservation actions are to set thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, avoid using large appliances and charging electric vehicles, and turn off unnecessary lights,” according to the American Public Power Association. During a “Flex Alert,” residents are encouraged to reduce energy consumption from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm — the hours in which “demand for electricity remains high and there is less solar energy available.” [Source: Daily Wire]

Oh, this is hilarious. Democrats across the country are trying to force Americans to buy expensive EVs. In California, they have even rolled out a plan that will ban gas cars in about ten years. But thanks to a prolonged heat wave, the “green” state is facing serious blackouts.

They are begging people to conserve power, starting with not charging their electric cars.

Hey, idiots! You can’t have it both ways. You can’t scold Americans for driving around gas-powered cars. Then tell them to not charge electric vehicles when they break down and buy one.

Are Democrats really this stupid? At least with gasoline, when there is a shortage, you just pay more. You aren’t told by the government not to fill up your tank (at least not since Jimmy Carter). But if you were dumb enough to buy an EV in the last few years (thanks to Joe Biden), you are now stuck with being told not to charge it.

Making that $70,000 electric car worthless.

The reason California is so screwed is because it shut down just about every fossil fuel power plant it had. It relies on alternative sources of electricity that perform below average at best. When energy demand goes up in the Summer, they always face these kinds of problems.

And California is just one of many blue states making these idiotic decisions. Massachusetts and Washington are also banning new gas cars by 2035, ensuring that residents will be prevented from charging their cars when energy crunches come.

This is what it looks like when brain-dead hippies run a country. They run headlong into bad ideas, never thinking about the consequences.

I’d be sad for the people of California. But they voted for these dummies.
