The left-wing House “squad” is a group of Democrats who have a history of pushing socialism onto the United States. These leftists support the defunding of our police, universal health care, environmental extremism, and open borders.
But it seems that is only the tip of the iceberg.
These squad members have called on Joe Biden to enact some of the most radical policies America has ever seen. Even as we suffer from painful inflation, on the verge of a recession, these Democrats want to push us over the edge. And, while many Americans are being crushed by rising taxes, one squad member is demanding this.
Representative Cori Bush (D-MO) stated that the United States has a moral obligation to pay out reparations to black people for the nation’s history of slavery, proposing that the US government pay out $14 trillion in reparations, though there is no confirmation on where the congresswoman believes that money will come from…
Bush said… “The United States has a moral and legal obligation to provide reparations for the enslavement of Africans.”
She continued: “Black people in our country cannot wait any longer for our government to begin addressing each and every one of the extraordinary bits of harm, all of the harm it has caused since the founding.” [Source: The Post Millennial]
Oh, really Cori? America has a “moral obligation” to pay out $14 trillion to people who were never slaves? How convenient that this would not only put money in her pocket, but help raise her profile among many who would vote for her in the election next year.
Many left-wing Democrats have called for “reparations,” meaning large payments given to black people whose ancestors may have been slaves. The idea appears to be the latest pathetic attempt by Democrats to pander to and manipulate black voters.
But not even far-left California has the stomach for reparations. A board is demanding millions of dollars per black person in the state. Gov. Newsom refuses to embrace this idea, considering the state is facing billions of dollars in debt.
Now, Cori Bush wants the federal government to drastically increase the national deficit to give people free money?
Tell me something, how will giving out $14 trillion do anything to rectify slavery? America is a free nation today. Has been for well over 100 years. Americans fought to end slavery and grant rights to all citizens. Civil Rights leaders of the last generation ensured that black Americans have access to education and employment.
Yet leftists today claim that unless the federal government dishes out checks to black people, the injustice remains.
Of course, Bush does not have any idea where this money will come from. You can tax the richest one percent all you want, but you won’t be able to come up with this money. From all appearances, this just sounds like a ruse. A Democrat is trying to further stir up racial tensions in this country, to exploit black voters.
They deserve much better.
