Major Blue City Reaches New Filthy Low – Has to Hire ‘Czar’ to Fix Shocking Problem

I know many of us love the cities we grew up in. But if there was ever a time to get out of densely populated major cities, it’s now. Anyone who has the chance to move to rural America, or even the suburbs, would be wise to do it. Because in the coming years, major Democrat-run cities are only going to get worse.

But this goes beyond the left’s love of crime. Yes, leftist DAs in most blue cities have put criminals back on the streets, resulting in surges of violence. That, however, is just one way Democrats are ruining once-iconic cities. Their lack of leadership and rampant corruption have turned major centers into trash heaps.

And in the once “Greatest City in the World,” things are so bad, they needed this kind of czar.

New York City’s infamous – and growing – rat population now has a new foe with the appointment Wednesday of a first-ever “rat czar” to tackle what is deemed a “major quality-of-life and health issue.”

Mayor Eric Adams (D) said former school teacher Kathleen Corradi is the new director of rodent mitigation, or “rat czar,” tasked with cleansing the city once and for all of its four-legged conquerors.

“New York City has done a lot recently when it comes to fighting public enemy number one: rats. But it was clear we needed someone solely focused on leading our rat reduction efforts across all five boroughs, and today I’m proud to announce Kathy Corradi as New York City’s first-ever ‘rat czar,’” said Mayor Adams, UPI reports. No, Adams. Rats are not New York’s number one enemy. You are. You and all the rats that infest your government.

How bad does a city have to get that they need to hire a “czar” to deal with rats? Doesn’t New York have glue traps? I find it odd that the city has to spend the time and money to hire someone (a former teacher at that) to deal with this infestation.

Yes, a big city will always have vermin. But for the rat population to get so bad you need a czar, something is very wrong.

Perhaps New York needs to invest in its sanitation program? Take all that money it’s been spending on illegal aliens and use it to actually clean up the garbage. Pictures and videos coming out in recent years have shown New York is literally getting buried in trash. That would have never happened when Mike Bloomberg was mayor.

Or, perhaps the rat problem isn’t as bad as they are claiming. Isn’t it odd how the mayor hired a former school teacher to deal with a vermin problem? Why didn’t he pick, I don’t know, someone with pest control experience? Does Adams want Corradi to read books to the rats?

Maybe this is just a distraction from all the other problems happening in New York? Adams wants to make it look like he’s doing something to “clean up” NYC. But he invents a meaningless job to someone unqualified, knowing this won’t amount to a hill of beans.

If Adams really wanted to clean up New York, he’d kick out the illegals, deal with the homeless, put the criminals behind bars, and fund the police.
