Midterms Sent Spinning After Major Move–Celebrity Businessman Donates a Fortune

The 2022 midterm elections might be a bigger upset than anyone is expecting. Democrats got hit with major losses in last year’s off-season races. But those might be nothing compared to this year. Democrats are facing uphill odds in swing districts and battleground states.

However, the big news is in reliably blue states. Democrat policies have led to rampant pain and suffering for Americans–especially on the issues of crime and the economy. Voters, both red and blue, could be poised to send many top Democrats walking.

And in the unlikely state of Oregon, a Republican candidate just got a massive windfall.

Nike co-founder Phil Knight has donated $1 million to elect Republican Oregon gubernatorial candidate Christine Drazan in an increasingly tight race against Democrat Tina Kotek…

“It’s not really $1 million toward Drazan or $3.75 (million) towards Betsy. It’s $4.75 (million) against Tina Kotek,” Tweed told the outlet…

The donation comes as Christine Drazan stands within striking distance of unseating Kotek in a deep blue state that has not elected a Republican governor since Vic Atiyeh in 1982.

As Breitbart News reported last week, a recent Emerson College poll showed the Oregon House Republican leader actually leading Kotek by two points – 36 percent to 34 percent…

“As soon as he sees some polls that say ‘wait a minute, there’s a chance that Drazan could win,’ he’s saying well maybe my money could make the difference to push her over the top,” said Bergstein. [Source: Breitbart]

The legendary co-founder of Nike, Phil Knight, donated $1 million to the Republican candidate for Oregon governor. According to sources, this donation to Christine Drazan is not an endorsement, but a stab against Democrat candidate Tina Kotek.

One recent poll actually has the Republican leading the Democrat by 2 points. That is not only a close race, but a shockingly close race–as Oregon has long been a blue state for decades.

But for a rich, celebrity businessman like Knight to donate against the Democrat shows you the discontent many have with the party.

Liberal voters have long suffered, thanks to Democrat leaders. They had to stay locked down over COVID for nearly two years. They’ve watched as Democrats defunded police and eliminated cash bail, leading to countless criminals flooding the streets.

And that’s not to mention the rising homelessness crisis in West Coast states–and rising costs of living and taxes.

Democrat leaders have met these challenges with a resounding, “Meh,” doing little to put Americans first.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to see voters eager for a change. We might see major upsets in races in very liberal regions.
