Following an Iranian missile attack directed at U.S. forces in Iraq, left-wing MSNBC reacted by siding with Iran in promoting Iranian propaganda falsely claiming that the Islamic Republic had killed 30 American military members in the Tuesday night missile attacks.
According to the Pentagon, there are no known American casualties in Tuesday night’s attacks, but that didn’t stop MSNBC from fear-mongering the American people by aligning with the baseless claims of Iran.
MSNBC host Chris Matthews brought in NBC News Tehran bureau chief Ali Arouzi, who regurgitated the Iranian claims to MSNBC’s national audience.
“We’re just getting reports now that a second wave of rocket attacks have been launched from Iran. The IRGC was saying that Ayatollah Khamenei, the supreme leader of this country, was in the control center coordinating these attacks. This is, uh, this bit I’m not sure about,” Arouzi said.
He then shared the unverified propaganda claims, “but Iran state media is claiming that 30 U.S. soldiers have been killed in this attack. Now, this is not confirmed, this is just coming from Iranian media, but we have just stepped over the precipice, Chris.”
In the midst of the attacks, MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell celebrated the hits from Iran apparently as a strike against President Donald Trump.
O’Donnell tweeted, “Trump wagged the dog. Now the dog is wagging Trump.”
O’Donnell went on to claim that Trump is “speechless” over the attacks from Iran, “These threats of war crimes & mass murder by Iran make this the most dangerous night in history of American military in the Middle East and the President of the United States has no idea what to say. White House says Trump won’t make a statement. He’s literally speechless.”
Anti-American Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi also blamed President Donald Trump for the Iranian missile launches against U.S. bases in Iraq on Tuesday evening, and suggested that America was unwilling and unable to fight back.
“Closely monitoring the situation following bombings targeting U.S. troops in Iraq. We must ensure the safety of our servicemembers, including ending needless provocations from the Administration and demanding that Iran cease its violence. America & world cannot afford war,” Pelosi said.
Pelosi who attended the opening of a Washington, DC restaurant earlier in the evening, was reportedly meeting with her House caucus when she was informed about the attacks.
Pelosi was handed a note inside a House Democratic Caucus meeting about the missile attacks and then left the room.
Senator Ted Cruz, however, unloaded on the Obama administration during an interview on Fox News last night, saying that the $150 billion that the Obama administration gave Iran paid for the missiles that Iran fired during this attack.
“If you look at Iran policy I think you’ve seen a dramatic shift. Under Barack Obama, the policy was appeasement,” Cruz said. “The policy under the disastrous Iranian nuclear deal under Obama was to give over $100 billion to Iran. They literally flew $1.7 billion in cash in unmarked bills on pallets in the dead of night into Iran.”
Cruz continued, “In a very real sense, the missiles that we saw fired on U.S. service men and women tonight were paid for by the billions the Obama administration flooded the ayatollah with and if history teaches anything its don’t give billions of dollars who hate you and want to kill you.”
