Americans are having a tough time supporting this year’s Winter Olympics. And it’s not just because the Winter Olympics are kind of dull. It’s mostly because the corrupt IOC once again allowed these historic games to be hosted by Communist China—a nation marred by human rights abuses and downright evil.
Apparently, the IOC had no problem rewarding China, despite its role in unleashing a deadly virus onto the world. But if that wasn’t enough for China to lose the Olympics, how about the fact it is currently oppressing the Uyghur minorities? Including rounding them up and forcing them into concentration camps?
You better believe American athletes are happy about performing in Beijing. But Democrat congresswoman Nancy Pelosi has some words of advice. “Don’t you dare talk about China’s evil.”
Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (CA) instructed U.S. athletes to not “speak out” against communist China’s human rights abuses during the Winter Olympics because it might make China angry.
“I would say to our athletes — you are there to compete,” Pelosi said in part during testimony before the Congressional-Executive Commission on China. “Do not risk incurring the anger of the Chinese government because they are ruthless. I know there is a temptation on the part of some to speak out while they are there, I respect that. But, I also worry about what the Chinese government might do to their reputations, to their families.” [Source: Daily Wire]
That’s right American athletes, who enjoy freedom and prosperity back home. Just smile and do your job like the good little monkeys you are. Don’t express frustration that you’ve been forced to participate in an event that worships an evil nation that murders its own people. Just look nice and pretty as you compete for your gold medals.
It’s pretty galling that an American leader would lecture Americans about not speaking up about actual abuses. But this is a Democrat, we’re talking about. And these days, Democrats have more in common with free speech-crushing regimes than the United States. Let’s not forget how many Congress members are being bankrolled by China right now, Pelosi included.
Is she really worried about Americans getting hurt by China—or is she more concerned with protecting China? If China can be “ruthless” why are we sending our athletes there at all? Pelosi says Americans should speak out about China’s cruelty because China’s cruel. Which also puts Americans at risk.
Is she a total idiot?
I find it pretty hypocritical of Pelosi and others for saying this kind of thing. For years, they’ve applauded American athletes who insulted our flag and knelt during the National Anthem. Hey Kapernick! We have an actual racist country you can protest against. But, be warned, when you protest real oppressive regimes, you end up in jail for life.
I guess Democrats only like protests when there are zero consequences against them.
