Many people might wonder why Nikki Haley continues to run in the GOP primaries. She is way behind Trump in number of delegates. On top of that, nearly every poll for upcoming states has her losing to Trump. She’s lost the support of large donors—both Republican and Democrat alike.
Yet she continues her campaign, convinced she can defeat a former president with a legion of supporters unseen in American history.
Perhaps she is still running, because she’s the last hope anti-Trumpers have of keeping him out of office. Or, maybe she’s convinced he’ll get kicked off most ballots or will be convicted of a crime, invalidating his campaign. Whatever the case, she got a shot in the arm this weekend, after she won her first primary victory.
Nikki Haley, the ex-Governor of South Carolina, secured victory in the Republican presidential nomination race on Sunday by winning the primary in Washington, DC…
This race presented her best opportunity yet, considering Trump’s underwhelming performance in the last competitive GOP presidential contest in 2016. That year, Trump suffered an unusual defeat to Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) in the D.C. primary, marking a rare setback for Trump in the GOP race.

Haley won the GOP primary in D.C. Trump had previously lost the primary in that district in 2016 to Sen. Marco Rubio. Haley, of course, is making a big deal about this win. But Trump was quick to expose what was really going on and why she won that district so easily.
“Tonight’s results in Washington D.C. reaffirm the object of President Trump’s campaign – he will drain the swamp and put America first,” the Trump campaign said.
“While Nikki has been soundly rejected throughout the rest of America, she was just crowned Queen of the Swamp by the lobbyists and DC insiders that want to protect the failed status quo. The swamp has claimed their queen.” [Source: The Post Millennial]
Ouch. Trump called Nikki Haley “queen of the swamp” for winning the GOP primaries in D.C. Republicans voting in the D.C. primaries are career government workers, politicians, or lobbyists. Of course, they’d reject Trump—whose campaign poses an existential threat to their corrupt agenda.
But for them to so eagerly support Haley should worry American voters. Why were these “swamp dwellers” so eager to vote for her? Could it be because they think she will help protect their plans to continue cheating Americans, throw money at overseas wars, and welcome millions more illegals?
Haley has rapidly lost support among conservatives because she is perceived to be a supporter of the corrupt, elite, globalist agenda. She has advocated for the erosion of free speech online and shares the views of neocons who want us engaged in forever wars.
Her win in D.C. will only cement that image in many voters many, doing far more damage than good for her campaign.
