One Final House Race Has Been Decided–and It Has Sent Democrats Screaming

More than enough has been said about the 2022 Midterm Elections. Democrats took a victory lap, simply because they weren’t completely demolished in the election cycle. A “red wave” didn’t sweep over Congress–mostly because in key states Republicans failed to modernize their election strategy and left too many things to chance.

But the bottom line is, Democrats lost big–no matter how you slice it. And the momentum conservative politicians gained this year will carry them into bigger wins in 2024. One of those wins took a long time to come. But after weeks of tallying the vote, Republicans flipped yet another seat. This time, in California.

One of the final House races to be decided in the 2022 cycle went to the Republicans after a close contest in which the Democrat trailed by only a few hundred votes.

Republican John Duarte won California’s 13th Congressional District after his Democratic rival, Adam Gray, conceded on Friday…

Republicans enjoyed better-than-expected results in the deep blue state of California. Despite California’s reputation for being far left, Republicans added another House seat to their majority. In total, they have 12 seats in California. This latest win flips a seat that was controlled by Democrats since the 70s.

In several key blue states, Democrats are panicking. Republicans did well in California. And every county in New York shifted red this year, something nobody expected. This is thanks to Republicans in those states taking nothing for granted, using mail-in ballots, early voting, and ballot harvesting.

In states were Republicans refused to take advantage of such tactics, they lost pathetically. Republicans in Arizona and Pennsylvania refused to do what Democrats were doing, pushing early voting, mail-in voting, and other strategies. And today they are complaining because they lost races they should have won.

It’s pretty clear Democrats keep winning important races because they no longer care about results. It doesn’t matter how poorly Joe Biden performs, as long as Democrat operatives can turn out enough voters come election time. That might not seem “fair,” but if Republicans want to win, they have to stop pretending like it’s 1952.

They learned that lesson in California, and they will keep gaining ground.
