It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar. This “squad” member is known for her allegiance with such leftists as AOC and her support of anti-Israel policies. But, do you worry, Omar is also a rabid climate alarmist–as crazed about this agenda as any good Democrat can be.
It’s summer, here in the USA. Which means, as always, hot weather. And, right on cue, Omar was quick to jump onto social media and make a wild claim–demanding wild action. But it didn’t take long for fact-checkers and Republicans to set the record straight.

Aside from the fact that the first reliable thermometer was not invented until 1714 by Daniel Fahrenheit, it was not until the 19th century that weather records were reliably maintained. And even then, records were not kept globally, thus it was impossible to measure worldwide weather data until the 20th century…
Aside from the demonstrably false claims about hot weather records, Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) pointed out the more glaring issue with Omar’s tweet: her demand for a “national climate emergency,” which, according to Lee, is liberal-speak for more government control. [Source: The Blaze]

Wow, the hottest day in 120,000 years? I didn’t know Omar was that old! Fact-checkers were quick to point out that the first reliable thermometer was not invented until 1714. And even then, weather records weren’t being kept until the 19th century. Even still, nobody was taking global weather records back then.
We haven’t had consistent weather records (if you want to call them that) until the 20th century. Which means, there is no way to know if we’ve had the “hottest” day in any span of years, let alone 120,000.
Omar’s claim was crushed by basic facts. But Sen. Mike Lee went on to point out what Omar was really trying to do. Never mind her faulty facts and reasoning. Omar was simply trying to stir up fear among her followers, so they would support the left announcing a “national climate emergency.”
Chuck Schumer said something similar recently. You see, Democrats learned from COVID that if they call something a “national emergency” they can grant themselves unprecedented power to control society.
Democrats were able to force Americans into their homes, shutting down businesses, violating their rights. Imagine what they could try to do if they declared a “national climate emergency.” Democrats would try to turn off gasoline production, shut down electric plants, and force you back into the dark ages.
Don’t think they wouldn’t do it!
Honestly, the only reason Biden hasn’t done this yet is because there is no immediate profit for himself or his donors. He can do far more damage by shuffling money through Congress to his buddies overseas. But the minute Democrats can figure out how to defraud Americans through a “climate emergency” they are going to do it.
