Ten Republican governors will join Texas Governor Greg Abbott for a media conference this week to unveil a new border initiative, it was reported in the Austin-American Statesman.
The media conference, which will happen in Texas, will unveil a 10-point security strategy. As we have reported, illegal crossings are at a record high since Joe Biden took office back in January.
The ten GOP governors who visited are Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts, Idaho Governor Brad Little, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, Montana Governor Greg Gianforte, and Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. Several of the conservative governors attending have also sent National Guard soldiers to the border this year to aid in the ongoing border disaster, after the request of Abbott and Ducey.
As previously reported, Abbott and Ducey wrote a letter back in June to all Republican governors asking for any possible law enforcement to be sent to America’s southern border. “Given the huge amount of violations now happening in Texas and Arizona, more manpower is required from any state that can provide it,” the two governors said.
“Border states such as Texas and Arizona are now ‘ground zero’ for this problem and bear a disproportionate share of this burden,” the letter said. “Securing our southern border with Mexico is Washington’s responsibility. But the Biden White House has proven unwilling or not able to do the job. This failure to enact federal immigration laws causes problems that spill over into all other States.”
While VP Harris was appointed the “border czar” by President Joe Biden, her incompetence to secure the border has proven to be even worse than expected, as border crossings have grown astronomically after she and Biden assumed office.
This comes at a time when Biden’s approval rating is lower than it has ever been, with the open border agenda being the top issue among most Americans’ reasons why the disapprove. The Democrats and the Biden White House have showed no signs of backing down against increasing American public anger and outcry.
