If you ever want proof Democrats have no idea what they are doing, look at cities or states with large liberal majorities. California has been suffering decline for years, thanks to its far-left Democratic supermajority in the state government. But certain cities are much worse than you’d imagine. One of them is San Francisco.
How bad it is in SF? Well, the homeless crisis is so bad, people can’t even walk down the streets. Homeless shanty towns, made of tents and garbage, crowd nearly every corner of downtown. Thanks to a law banning prosecuting of shoplifting, stores are shutting down everywhere because of unchecked crime.
Now, the city is poised to put the nail in its own coffin by offering “guaranteed income” to transgender residents.
A new guaranteed income program for transgender residents of San Francisco includes 97 gender options on its application, plus 19 sexual orientations — including several anti-gay slurs — and 18 options for pronouns.
The city-sponsored program, called Guaranteed Income for Trans People (GIFT), will “provide low-income transgender residents with $1,200 each month, up to 18 months,” according to local ABC affiliate KGO…
In a statement, the City of San Francisco said: “GIFT is one of several programs the City is developing, implementing, and evaluating to identify how to best support San Francisco residents and promote economic stability and recovery.” [Source: Breitbart]
Good luck with that, San Francisco. Just think how idiotic this plan is. The city plans on giving out $1,200 a month checks to citizens who identify as “transgender.” But the application includes 97 “gender options” as well as 19 sexual orientations.
San Francisco is opening itself up to unchecked chaos. With such broad and inane guidelines, what is stopping everyone from requesting this welfare? If gender is truly fluid, as the left claims, then why shouldn’t everyone fill out an application–claiming they are transgender?
The left has no standards when it comes to gender identity anymore. It simply is based on the person’s feelings. That means any straight, “cis” person can claim they are trans and get this money. Who is going to stop them?
How long before the city is completely bankrupt? How long before most businesses shut down because too many workers quit thanks to this program? How many more drug addicts, criminals, and homeless flood the city–encouraged to continue to live in squalor because they are getting free money?
We can’t predict anything, but we can’t foresee this program being a success. Instead, it will increase San Francisco’s debt, raise taxes, further destroy its economy, and be shut down within the year.
