Things have not gotten better in Minneapolis since the events of last year. That could be said about many cities in America that are run by Democrats. In the aftermath of endless riots, looting, and destruction, radical leftists slashed police budgets. The results shouldn’t surprise you, a staggering jump in crime.
The mainstream media’s attack on police has led to dire consequences. Even in cities that support cops, officers feel hated, harassed, and singled out. The movement to “defund” PDs has led to an exodus of cops from the force. In cities like Minneapolis, there might not be hope that law and order can be restored.
One of the chief advocates to defund and dismantle the police, Ilhan Omar, sees it differently. She looks at the rising crime in her city and has only one group to blame. Not the criminals, but the cops who bother to stick around.
Omar, speaking at a town hall event on Saturday in Minneapolis, blamed the rising crime rates on the police department in the city, which comes after she previously called them a “cancer,” and said “we need to completely dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department.”…
“The police have chosen to not fulfill their oath of office and to provide the public safety they are owed to the citizens they serve, right? It’s documented. But even before that, it was documented. The Minneapolis Police Department is the most dysfunctional police department, in our state and probably in the country.” [Source: Daily Wire]
Right. Democrats like Omar slashed police budgets, leading to a drop in officers, training, and resources. On top of that, they have led an anti-police media campaign for over a year, leading to more cops leaving the force. But criminals exploit the climate and commit a record number of violent crimes, it’s the cop’s fault?

Omar was successful in destroying the police department of her city (and the city itself, for that matter). She slandered the hard-working cops of Minneapolis, who risk their lives every day to keep the city safe. Even as cops leave the force, the ones that stick around are forced to deal with overwhelming odds. That includes a city council that keeps slashing its budget.
But when the obvious results of that policy come out, Omar has the gall to blame the cops, not her broken policies.
Hey, idiot! How about you blame the people actually responsible for rising crime, the criminals! Why do Democrats seem so hell-bent on ignoring those who commit crime? They always blame everyone but the people who pull the trigger.
We all know why Minneapolis is a festering stink hole. Radical leftists have made the PD a laughing stock, emboldening criminals. Some neighborhoods have been forced to hire private security. Plenty of people have already moved out, fleeing to cities that actually uphold the law.
What does Omar actually want? A Minneapolis (and America) with no police? Who is she going to blame for the rising crime, then? The victims? Climate change? Anyone but the criminals, right?
