Super Tuesday has come and gone. This day in the primary calendar saw numerous states go to the polls. It is a key moment in the race to the White House, as many delegates are decided on this one day.
In the GOP race, only one candidate was left chasing after Donald Trump. Despite lagging behind the former president, Nikki Haley refused to quit the race.
Well, the results have been pouring in. And it appears, aside from Vermont, Donald Trump dominated the race. He crushed Haley by wide margins in nearly every state. Now, Republican leaders are making it clear what is going to happen.
Reactions poured in from prominent conservatives on social media as former President Trump cruised to victory in nearly every contest in Super Tuesday’s primaries, most of whom called on the party to unite behind him…
“Admit it,” Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott posted on X. “The primary is over.”
“Time for Republicans to unite and restore sanity at the border.”
“It is LONG past time for us to rally around President Trump as our Republican nominee who will defeat Joe Biden this November,” GOP Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, thought by some to be in consideration for Trump’s running mate, posted on X.
“Voters across our country have spoken — this race is about the American people,” South Carolina Republican Sen. Tim Scott, also rumored to be a potential pick for vice president, posted on X. “It’s about safe streets, quality education, and a secure border. Donald J. Trump is the one candidate to unite our country around success and WIN in November.” [Source: Fox News]
Republicans across the country are declaring victory for former President Donald Trump. He crushed Haley in nearly every state, making his nomination all but secure. Leaders within the GOP are now calling on the party to unite behind his campaign, so they can focus on defeating Joe Biden.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott put it bluntly by saying, “The primary is over.” Other leaders echoed much the same sentiment.
It didn’t take long for Haley to announce she was ending her campaign. She had wasted millions to just become a distant second to Trump. The question remains, however, if those anti-Trumpers who were holding out hope that he wouldn’t become the nominee will actually get behind his campaign.
