Plenty has been said about the many trials facing Donald Trump. Critics and his supporters believe they are attempts by Democrats to interfere in the 2024 Election.
Trump has fought back, maintaining both his innocence and immunity from prosecution. A federal court denied his presidential immunity, on what some have called shaky grounds. Trump appealed to the highest court. This is what they said.
The Supreme Court agreed Wednesday to decide whether former President Donald Trump can claim presidential immunity over criminal election interference charges, adding a new hurdle to a trial taking place.
The court said in a brief order it would hear arguments and issue a ruling on the immunity claim. In the meantime, the case is on hold, meaning no trial can take place. [Source: NBC News]
In what might be a huge blow to the Democrats’ plans, the Supreme Court will hear arguments over whether Donald Trump has immunity over criminal charges.
The charges leveled at Trump relate to actions he took as president. If presidents don’t have immunity for actions while in office, every future president is in danger of prosecution, much like Trump. How the Supreme Court rules could decide the fate of the country’s most important office.
Naturally, Nancy Pelosi had a meltdown over this decision. Despite how important this issue is, Pelosi was bent out of shape that the court might protect the former president. And she made a big claim.
The Supreme Court is placing itself on trial with its decision to hear the former president’s total immunity claim. It remains to be seen whether the justices will uphold the fundamental American value that no one is above the law – not even a former president.

Pelosi, who has very little say in the matter, claimed the Supreme Court was putting “itself on trial” by agreeing to consider Trump’s immunity claim. Once again, Pelosi is treating Trump guilty until proven innocent.
But her condemnation of the court is alarming, given the importance of this issue. Most will agree the court has to decide if a president has immunity over actions taken while in office. That seems like an issue every American would want to be settled.
But because the court might rule in Trump’s favor, Pelosi is already arming herself against them. Her comments, like many recent comments by Democrats, seem to be trying to stoke anger against the court by regular Americans. Such a move could undermine the SCOTUS’s ability to govern properly.
