It’s no secret that crime in major, Democrat-run cities, is out of control. Radical, left-wing city councils and mayors have defunded the police. They’ve slashed police budgets, drastically reducing the number of cops on the streets. In some cities, they’ve gone even further to eliminate cash bail and stop prosecuting certain crimes (like shoplifting).
The result has been chaos. Small businesses have been hit the hardest. Criminals have free reign to rob stores–and customers–in broad daylight. Even in cities where they prosecute these crimes, there are not enough cops to arrest these criminals. It’s getting so bad in some parts of the country, that shop owners have resorted to some pretty extreme steps.
A north Philly owner was tired of being robbed and having to deal with criminals in the lawless city of brotherly love, so he’s taken matters into his own hands.
Since the police and the Democrat city government won’t do anything about the crime he has stationed his own security outside of his stores…
Neil Patel, operator of a Karco gas station at Broad and Clearfield streets in North Philadelphia, recruited Pennsylvania S.I.T.E Agents clad with Kevlar vest and AR-15s or shotguns.
“They are forcing us to hire the security, high-level security, state level,” Patel told FOX 29. “We are tired of this nonsense; robbery, drug trafficking, hanging around, gangs.” [Source: Not the Bee]

Yep, crime is so bad n North Philadelphia, that at least one gas station owner has hired armed security to thwart crime. It’s particularly bad for gas stations. Their customers are outside and exposed, vulnerable to crimes rushing up and robbing them–even stealing their cars.
How does a gas station owner expect to feed his family, if customers are too scared to pull up?
So, this owner of Karco gas hired Pennsylvania S.I.T.E. agents to guard his store. These tough-looking men are armed with AR-15s or shotguns and protected with bulletproof vests. This is pretty amazing.
It’s sad that an American city has been reduced to this. But I very much doubt gangbangers are willing to confront men ready to blow their heads off. You have to wonder how much this is costing Patel. These men are putting their lives at risk, so I’m sure it’s not cheap.
But considering Patel was risking losing everything, he might consider it a worthwhile expense.
It doesn’t change the fact, though, that he should never have had to do this. Why does a business owner in Philadelphia have to recruit what look like paramilitary soldiers just to scare away criminal scum?
It’s because Democrats have failed us this badly.
