The former President applauded the participants of the trucker convoy as heroes who are “doing more to defend the freedoms of America than our own leaders.”
“The Canadian truckers, you have been reading about it… They are resisting these terrible lawless mandates. They are doing more to defend our freedoms than our own leaders, by far. And we wish for these great Canadian truckers to understand we are with them,” said Donald Trump.
“They have really shown something.”
“We want Canadian truckers to understand that we are with them all the way,” he said to a crowd of supporters near Houston.
Trump also slammed President Joe Biden for his team’s unconstitutional coronavirus mandates forcing the vaccine on federal workers, businesses with more than 100 employees, healthcare workers that work at places getting federal funding, and the military.
The punishments threatened against the truckers by the Canadian government seem to be severe, with Daily Mail UK saying the province of Nova Scotia has pushed $10,000 fines for people gathering on highways to protest the mandates.
Justin Trudeau seems to be mostly fearful of the unrest in the country, with many news outlets reporting that the Canadian Prime Minister left their home due to security concerns. Trudeau also said that he was quarantining himself after supposedly catching Covid-19, with some saying that he was lying in order to hide from the people during massive political pressure.
The trucker protest in Canada seems to be working. We can only hope that American truckers learn from their northern brothers and plan such a protest in America when the time comes. But we can anticipate that the leaders of America, and especially the Biden White House would do a lot more than fines to punish American truckers should they plan such a strike or convoy. We imagine there would be mass arrests and threats of physical violence spanning the entire nation.
