Voters Speak Out in Swing State, Stun Reporter With Heartbreaking News

Voters Speak Out in Swing State, Stun Reporter With Heartbreaking News

This year’s presidential election isn’t just another political contest—it’s a battle for the future of America. Voters are heading to the polls with a lot on their minds, and it’s not just the usual talking points. The country is grappling with some of the most serious challenges we’ve seen in generations: a sluggish economy, skyrocketing inflation, a broken immigration system, and multiple global conflicts.

As voters consider their options, they’re forced to ask themselves one simple but profound question: has Biden and Harris made good on their promises?

For many, the answer seems clear. The Biden-Harris administration promised a return to normalcy, but instead, chaos has continued, and in many cases worsened. The economy is barely limping along, with prices for groceries, gas, and housing all climbing higher than ever. The southern border is a revolving door, with record numbers of illegal immigrants pouring into the country.

And overseas, we’ve seen disasters like the botched Afghanistan withdrawal and an escalating war between Russia and Ukraine that’s draining our resources. So it’s no surprise that many Americans are reflecting on the last four years and are taking a hard look at what Kamala Harris intends to do.

During a segment of CBS Mornings at a Country Kitchen restaurant, North Carolina voters shared that they were better off under former President Donald Trump than they are under the current administration.

“We were better off when Trump was in than we are today,” one voter said, prompting the interviewer to interject, “Because prices were lower.”

CBS Mornings recently aired a segment that perfectly encapsulated this sentiment. Inside a humble Country Kitchen restaurant in North Carolina, voters spoke candidly about their frustrations with the current administration. One voter didn’t mince words: “We were better off when Trump was in than we are today.”

The interviewer quickly pointed out that prices were lower during Trump’s presidency, but the voter continued, listing off the key issues: “Everything was better. You got the immigrants, you got the economy, you got the wars overseas. We don’t really feel like right now we have anybody at all looking after all this. We need somebody to take command.”

That feeling of hopelessness is widespread. People are tired of the excuses, the endless policy failures, and the lack of direction from Washington. They want a president who can fix the economy, secure the border, and project strength on the global stage. Les Hardison, another voter in the segment, summed it up perfectly: “If we get Trump, we got hope. We get Kamala, we don’t have any hope. It’s gone. Country’s gone.”

It’s hard to argue with these voters. Biden and Harris inherited a country recovering from COVID-19, but rather than build on that momentum, they’ve presided over a nation in decline. The economy remains sluggish, with inflation eating away at the buying power of ordinary Americans.

Immigration is a disaster, with record numbers crossing the southern border and overwhelming our resources. And as if that wasn’t enough, we’re pouring billions into foreign wars, while our own citizens struggle at home.

In battleground states like North Carolina, this feeling of hopelessness is palpable. These voters aren’t just upset—they’re disillusioned. North Carolina, in particular, has suffered under the Biden administration. It’s a state that was hit hard by Hurricane Helene, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) response was widely criticized as inept and inadequate.

It’s no surprise that Trump is leading Harris in this key swing state. According to a recent poll, Trump holds a narrow lead, with 48 percent of early voters backing him compared to 47 percent for Harris. Among likely voters, Trump extends that lead to 49 percent.

And it’s not just North Carolina. Trump is surging in other swing states like Michigan and Wisconsin, and he’s closing the gap in Pennsylvania.

Voters in these states consistently rate Trump higher on key issues like the economy, immigration, and his ability to lead the military. They remember the prosperity and security they felt under his presidency, and they want that back.

As we approach Election Day, one thing is clear: Americans are tired of feeling like no one is in charge. They’re tired of the endless crises and the lack of solutions from the Biden-Harris administration.

For many, Donald Trump represents a return to better days—a time when jobs were plentiful, prices were stable, and America was respected on the global stage.

It’s not just about politics; it’s about survival. People like Les Hardison and the other North Carolina voters are speaking for millions of Americans who feel abandoned and betrayed by the current administration. They want hope, and they believe Trump can give it to them. As one voter put it simply, “If we get Trump, we got hope.” And right now, that’s exactly what this country needs.
