250,000 Girls Raped by Grooming Gangs — And the UK Government Helped Cover It Up

A 219-page inquiry into the United Kingdom's grooming gang epidemic, published June 16, 2026, estimates that at least 250,000 young British girls were systematically raped, trafficked, and tortured by organized criminal gangs over decades. The gangs operated across 149 local authority districts. This was not an isolated problem in a single city. It was a nationwide structure.

The inquiry was not commissioned by Parliament. It was crowdfunded by more than 20,000 private citizens who decided that if their government would not investigate the industrialized sexual abuse of children, they would pay for the investigation themselves. The Rape Gang Inquiry Report was chaired by Independent MP Rupert Lowe and led by prominent survivor and activist Sammy Woodhouse.

The findings are specific. Eighty percent of perpetrators came from Pakistani heritage. Between 87 and 95 percent of convicted perpetrators in group-based child sexual exploitation cases were Muslim. The report also names perpetrators of Somali, Iranian, Syrian, and Turkish origin. The victims were predominantly white British girls, many from working-class families or care homes, some as young as 11 years old. The gangs used a consistent pattern: befriending vulnerable girls with gifts, drugs, and alcohol before subjecting them to gang rapes, blackmail, forced pregnancies, and in some cases forced Islamic conversions.

The institutions charged with protecting these children did not protect them. Police, social services, schools, the NHS, and elected politicians all failed — through denial, through ignored reports, through the criminalization of victims who came forward, and through the active destruction of evidence.

They destroyed evidence. They criminalized the victims.

The cover-up was not a passive failure. The report documents active suppression at every level of government. People in positions of authority looked at what was happening, understood what they were looking at, and made deliberate decisions about what not to do. Those decisions kept the gangs operating. U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna described the result plainly: "at the very least, 250,000 white girls" were "subjected to repeated rape, gang rape, trafficking, torture, pregnancy, forced Islamic conversion and lifelong trauma."

Then there is Sir Keir Starmer. Britain's current Prime Minister previously served as Director of Public Prosecutions. Under his watch, approximately 13,000 suspected grooming gang members and pedophiles were reportedly let off with warning letters — for child rape. That man now runs the country.

The pattern that British authorities spent years refusing to name — calling anyone who raised it a racist, treating the demographic data as too dangerous to acknowledge — is now documented in a 219-page report that any member of Parliament could have commissioned at any time and chose not to. Twenty thousand private citizens had to pay for it instead.

Every American policy debate about immigration, border security, and who enters this country takes place against this backdrop now. The voices that treat any question about cultural attitudes toward women as inherently bigoted, that call scrutiny of mass migration xenophobia, have a specific answer available to them. Britain asked those questions too late. The answer is in the report.

We don't get to say we weren't warned.
