For years, critics have accused Joe Biden of disrespecting black Americans. Biden has claimed to have supported the Civil Rights movement as a young man. But in recent years, he has made comments that even his own supporters could not defend.
Most recently, Biden spoke of actor and rapper LL Cool J during a speech to the Congressional Black Caucus. During it, he referred to the 55-year-old man as a “boy.” In the past, “boy” was used as a means of insulting grown, black men. Although Biden quickly corrected himself, the backlash was quick and fierce.
President Biden is under fire for calling LL Cool J “boy” during a speech to the Congressional Black Caucus, with everyone from average Americans to a popular radio host scolding the president for the “unacceptable” comment about a Black man…
“For example, James Clyburn has come to Joe Biden’s rescue every time he expressed his true racial hostilities. His recent comment referring to LL Cool J as ‘boy’ was not a gaffe, but a lifelong attitude of racial discrimination towards Blacks,” [Leo] Terrell continued. [Source: Fox News]
Numerous people have come out to condemn Joe Biden for calling LL Cool J “boy.” Leo Terrell, a Fox News contributor, accused Biden of having “racial hostilities.” He claimed he left the Democratic Party in 2020, after Biden’s infamous “you ain’t black” comment.
Biden said black voters “ain’t black” if they had trouble deciding to support him or Donald Trump. He said this comment on a radio program hosted by Charlamagne tha God. Now after Biden made his recent comments about LL Cool J, Charlamagne spoke out again.
Charlemagne dubbed the president “Donkey of the Day” and scolded the president even further for butchering the rapper’s name…
Charlemagne found it especially insulting that the president butchered LL Cool J’s name from the outset, citing it as yet another example of him using black people to look relevant and cool. [Source: Breitbart]
The radio host was particularly harsh in his criticisms against Joe Biden. He said Biden “fully understands” the “racial context” in a white man calling a black man, “boy.” Yet Biden said it anyway. Charlemagne also rebuked Biden for getting LL Cool J’s name wrong, calling him “LL J Cool J.”
This comes at a very bad time for Joe Biden. A new poll came out revealing his approval among black voters. His support among them has fallen by 17 points since 2021, from 80 percent to 63 percent.
This gaffe will certainly not help Biden reclaim support from black Americans. How this will affect his election chances remains to be seen.
