Democrat Senator Faces Insane Bribery Charge – What He Does Next is Even Crazier

New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez, was sent reeling over the weekend by news of a federal indictment. The Democrat, who had been indicted previously, was hit with charges of bribery by the DOJ. The indictment accuses the senator and his wife of being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to help an Egyptian official, as well as various businessmen.

Federal agents even released images of gold bars the Menendezs allegedly received. They were also accused of receiving cash and a luxury car. These kinds of heavy charges are not easy to cast aside. Menedez is facing calls from New Jersey leadership and others to resign. But the Democrat just announced a special event. This will surely stun some Americans.

Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., is reportedly to announce his 2024 re-election bid during a press conference Monday expected to be his first public appearance since his latest indictment…

During that event, he is expected to announce his 2024 re-election bid – and that could mean running outside the Democratic Party, The New Jersey Globe reported…

Menendez was charged through an unsealed indictment Friday in the Southern District of New York with allegedly agreeing to use his official position to benefit New Jersey businessmen Wael Hana, Jose Uribe and Fred Daibes and Egypt’s government in exchange for hundreds of thousands of dollars of bribes. The indictment also charges Menendez’s wife, Nadine, and the three businessmen in the years-long bribery scheme. Federal prosecutors said the bribes included gold bars, cash and a luxury convertible.  [Source: Fox News]

Sen. Menendez will reportedly announce his re-election campaign to the U.S. Senate. This comes days after he was indicted on numerous bribery changes by federal authorities. This news will no doubt come as a shock to millions of Americans who are expecting answers from this Democrat.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, along with other Democrats, has demanded Menendez’s immediate resignation. Instead, he appears defiant, unwilling to admit his guilt, and determined to win another term in office.

Menendez was indicted on federal corruption charges in 2015. He avoided penalties, due to a mistrial. The Senate Ethics Committee accused Menendez of breaking the law in 2018 over accepting unreported gifts from a friend and ally.

It appears Menendez believes he can beat these latest charges, given his track record. But history does not appear to be on his side. The Democrat has faced repeated accusations of corruption and bribery during his political career. Chances are, this federal indictment finally has enough evidence to expose him.
