Republican Hammers Biden Official With One Word – This is a Big Deal

This week, Attorney General Merrick Garland was forced to answer questions from House Republicans. Top lawmakers grilled the Biden administration official over various controversies. They challenged him on the ongoing investigation against Hunter Biden by a special counsel. They also demanded answers from the top DOJ official on the events of January 6th.

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie’s line of questioning addressed claims that FBI agents were in the crowd, undercover. Reports have come out, including from former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, that there were in fact agents in the crowd. Massie demanded to know what Garland–who oversees the FBI–knew about this. When Garland claimed ignorance, Massie levels a serious allegation against him.

Rep. Thomas Massie said, “Now in that video, that was your answer to a question to me two years ago, when I said how many agents or assets of the government were present on January 5 and January 6, and agitating in the crowd to go into the Capitol and how many went into the Capitol.”

“Well last time, you don’t know how many there were or there were none?” Massie asked.

“I don’t know the answer to either of those questions. If there were any, I don’t know how many, I don’t know whether there are any,” Garland responded.

“I think you may have just perjured yourself,” Massie replied, “that you don’t know that there were any? You want to say that again?”

Rep. Massie hammered Attorney General Garland over answers he gave regarding January 6. Some have suggested, including the Republican lawmaker, that FBI agents were in the crowd. Those agents have been accused of “agitating” the crowd, so it would enter the Capitol.

Massie showed Garland a video of their questioning from two years ago. Back then, Garland claimed to not know how many, if any, FBI agents were in the crowd. Massie now demanded the attorney general to answer the question again.

Garland, despite being in charge of the DOJ and FBI, claimed he did not know “the answer to that question.” When pressed, Garland repeated that he did not know how many agents were in the crowd.

Massie responded by claiming Garland may have perjured himself. It appears the Republican has serious doubts that the man overseeing the largest law enforcement body in America has no knowledge of agents engaged in the event. The DOJ has prosecuted many Americans involved in the Capitol event. Yet the top lawyer in the country cannot answer this basic question.
