It’s rare, these days, that Republicans and Democrats can come together to get something done. That’s especially true in Congress, where both parties are constantly fighting to get the upper hand.
With Biden in the White House, we just assume that Democrats will do whatever they can to prop up his agenda–and try to shut down anything Republicans want to do.
But with one particular issue, even most Democrats realized Biden was off the deep end. He was set to allow $6 billion in frozen assets to go to the world’s leading state funder of terrorism. A nation responsible for the October 7th attack in Israel. Now, both parties in the House just voted to end Biden’s insane scheme.
The US House has blocked the transfer of $6 billion in frozen funds to Iran. The money, being held in Qatar, was part of a hostages-for-prisoners swap deal in September. However, the funds transfer was paused by Qatar, where the funds are being held, and the US, after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7…
The bill, called the No Funds for Iranian Terrorism Act, was passed 307-119 in the House. Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) backed the bill, speaking on the floor about the necessity of holding Biden accountable for his terrible foreign policy where Iran is concerned. He further said that the deal “incentivizes more hostage-taking.” [Source: The Post Millennial]
Both Republicans and Democrats joined together to pass a bill blocking the transfer of $6 billion in funds to terrorist-loving Iran. The measure was passed by 307 members of the House, which includes congressmen from both parties.
Support for Biden’s Iran deal soured soon after October 7th. Many began to question why the U.S. was helping provide funds to Iran, which has been blamed for supporting Hamas and other terror groups.
Of course, the Biden administration is trying to protect its ass. Secretary of State Antony Blinken claimed he had not seen “evidence” that Iran was behind the October 7th attack. Okay, so we should just forget about all those other attacks they have helped orchestrate over the years and give them this money!
And let’s not forget that Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terror groups admitted they received help from Iran. And that Iran constantly calls for the destruction of Israel and the United States.
Despite the passage of this bi-partisan bill, it is unclear how the Senate will welcome this legislation. Democrats in the upper chamber might reject this measure, seemingly supporting the terrorist-backing regime.
Biden promised the $6 billion will be used only for humanitarian aid. But experts admitted that, if they get this money, it will free up other funds–which will be used for terrorism.
