I don’t have to tell you about how bad things are going in many Democrat-run cities. For years, they have been pushing radical policies that are destroying their communities. Progressive leaders defunded police departments, legalized drug abuse, encouraged homelessness, and refused to enforce the law.
The result has been hundreds of thousands of residents fleeing to other states. Entire businesses are folding, due to unchecked crime. But one liberal city is declining faster than any other. Massive explosions in crime have destroyed much-needed shopping centers. And now, just on the eve of Christmas, they are losing a major retailer.
The LEGO store in the San Francisco Centre mall has officially closed, right in the middle of the Christmas retail season, joining a retail exodus from the city that is driven by crime, homelessness, drugs, and the nation’s slowest post-pandemic recovery.
As Breitbart News has noted, Westfield stopped making mortgage payments on the San Francisco Centre mall in June, after losing Nordstrom, which was its anchor tenant. Many other retail businesses, small and large, boutique and chain, have left…
A caption on a Reddit photo of the abandoned store read: “Looks like there was no notice given, or closing sale. It just shut on Thursday. Note on the door says it’s permanent. Staff had verbally confirmed the store would stay open after Westfield abandoned the mall.” [Source: Breitbart]
Just before Christmas, the LEGO store in the San Francisco Centre Mall abruptly closed its doors. There were no prior warnings, just an immediate shutdown. Notices revealed the store was permanently closed.
This comes as the owner of the mall, Westfield, stopped paying its mortgage on the property. Major department store Nordstrom had previously pulled out, forcing the company to abandon ship. Expect whatever stores are left to quickly follow, leaving the center totally abandoned.
This is a huge, historic shopping center in the downtown of a major American city. Yet it is being abandoned as if we were on the verge of a zombie apocalypse. Meanwhile, in red states across America, shoppers are flocking to malls and centers for the holidays.
San Francisco’s decline can only be attributed to one thing: Democrats. The radical, left-wing leaders have pushed extremist policies that are destroying the city. It won’t be long before every last viable business is gone. The once iconic city will be worse than Detroit.
It could have been avoided, if the morons who run the city actually enforced the laws. Instead, they put pot smokers and shoplifters ahead of law and order and the city is rotting away.
